Day 1 Papal Visit Philippines 2015

(Photo from: Rappler)

They say that the Pope will arrive at 5:45 pm in Villamor Air Base in the Philippines coming from Sri Lanka the government has already deployed a very large group of police forces and traffic enforces along the route that Pope Francis will be passing to ensure his safety when he is here in the Philippines. Before Pope Francis’ arrival in the Philippines many of his documentaries about his life is being aired on television for the general public to know who Pope Francis is aside from being the current leader of the Catholic Church. A lot of Pope Francis memorabilia or souvenirs are being sold so the people could remember this historic event in the Philippines. Pope Francis will be riding a white Philippine jeepney that is open which is very dangerous for his life, he wants to do this because he wants to be with the people to interact with them. He will have a Papal Convoy when he arrives some of the roads will be closed due to his arrival.

The Pope arrived at the Villamor Air Base and was welcomed by children, President “Noynoy” Aquino, Vice President Jejomar Binay, members of the Cabinet, Bishops and other Cardinals and, Cardinal Tagle, upon the arrival of the Pope church bells all over manila rang. A low pressure area is threatening to rain over the parade of Pope Francis but I’m sure God will not make it happen. He rode a pick-up truck on his convey on the way to the Apostolic Nunciature where he will sleep for the night. Upon seeing the people on the road Pope Francis had an everlasting smile and always waved to the people eventhough he went directly from airplane to the convoy maybe he didn’t experience jet-lag. The human barriers worked like a charm the Pope was not harmed eventhough he was riding an open vehicle.

The Filipinos call Pope Francis as “Lolo Kiko”. He arrived at the Apostolic Nunciature after 30 minutes. Pope Francis’ skullcap flew when he stepped off the plane from Sri Lanka and the funny thing was our President hesitated to kiss the Holy Father’s hand which went viral across social media ofcourse. The whole event for this day went peaceful and no harm was done what so ever. That is all he has done for today! The arrival of Pope Francis made the Twitterverse explode with tweets and hash tags containing Pope Francis and Philippines. (HOT @ THE PHILIPPINES).
