Today Pope Francis will conduct a meeting with the
leaders, with the youth and, will have a mass in Luneta. The Pope will have a
meeting with other religious leaders of the Philippines , he is very open to
other religions and he does not discriminate them and before he goes to the
Philippines he washed the feet of some Muslims, attended a mass at an Orthodox
Church and he himself is the first Pope from the Jesuit order. After the
meeting with the religious leaders he moves on to meet with the youth in UST.
The Pope meets a child who cries infront of him as she tells what she wants to
say to the Pope and her experiences as a child in the streets. The Pope is very
fond of children as he kisses them very often and sometimes even stops for them
to reach them out and also one of his guards picks a child from the crowd and
brings it to the Pope.
The Pope teaches the children about mercy and compassion for others and to dream and love. The Pope moves on to conduct a mass in Quirino Grandstand which is his last mass for his visit here in the Philippines. The total of the People who attended Pope Francis’ mass is six million beating the past record of St. Pope John Paul II’s mass which is about 5 million people. Like the Pope’s mass in Leyte it also rained heavily but still the 6 million people did not go home although others were already soaking wet and instead did not mind the rain but they listened to Pope Francis’ homily, before the mass began Pope Francis went around the holding areas were the people were guided he did this to see them and wave to them. This is what the Pope has done for today and sadly this is his last activity for the whole visit because tomorrow he will fly back to Vatican and people are sad and will say goodbye to him tomorrow but Pope Francis has left a great impact in the hearts of Filipinos everywhere.
